Re: Coco Grand Auditorium continued.......

Thanks for the feedback guys! Dennis, two staples and a tightly wrapped innertube have worked perfectly for me the last few fingerboards. Clamps, even padded, never quite cover it all well enough, and most often still leave some kind of wood dent here or there that needs to be repaired or sanded. Th...

Re: Coco Grand Auditorium continued.......

Here are a few pics of the neck work to get the thread up to par. Please bear with all my boring pics....I am trying to get better at getting them up. I have posted this before, but I want to mention it again. This large barrel curling iron is killer for bending small bindings and purflings....I use...

Re: Coco Grand Auditorium continued.......

I wanted to do this one with french polish; I have gotten really good with that as of late, but this one will get lots of play in country and blues bars, so it will need a harder finish. I will be using the stewmac kit on this one. My nrxt one will be a polyester uv cured finish, that one will be co...

Re: My first commission (Kelley's Guitar)

Nice job! was it hard to kick out of the nest? I know my first commission was very hard. I got through it with some words from Dennis and Eben, but still miss it. I get updates from time to time, so that makes me feel good. Be sure to get them to do a public review on Harmony Central. I am one of th...

Re: Curly Maple Cutaway for Debbie

That always stinks to see wood with a crack! The bending blanket is different for everyone I think......it all depends on when and how you clamp it down. Some people think I am nuts for bending at 260 but I have not cracked a set since going down to that temp. I always enjoy seeing your eye for bala...

Re: Coco Grand Auditorium continued.......

Thanks guys...I have a knack for taking pictures when things are covered in glue and lopsided still. My wife guards her camera well, and I need to get my own shop camera so I can be on it better. Despite the gory pics, this is going to be one hell of a guitar.

Thanks for looking!
