You're all most kind...

Onto one of the scary bits today - putting the frets in. Seemed to go OK. I used a technique 'borrowed' from one of the other forums and tried out successfully on my acoustic: open the top of the slot slightly with a triangular needle file; thin bead of titebond on the tang; hammer one side; hammer the other side; hammer in the middle; finish off with a 12" radius block to ensure it's even.

Here it is in progress:

and here it is this evening after trimming the ends:

Should be able to flatten and crown the frets tomorrow :)

Thanks for looking

Andy

Hi

One or two of you may have already seen this on one of the other forums - if so, apols but I am so b****y excited :dance

Other than final fitting of the neck if my buyer wants it (presently similar to Vintage LP but, of course, he may want it slimmer) it's pretty much finished :D

I'm pleased with how its come out and how it sounds...AND IT BALANCES !

Here are some shots of the finished article:

What a stupendously satisfying hobby this is :)

Andy - that looks great. Very nice job. Someday perhaps you can tell us about the electronics?

Yep it's a beauty. Impressive work! Thanks for the unorthodox neck through building technique tutorial.
