Hey Guys

I finish my bath remodel in simi valley , I'll be back on this monday..fun...I ordered all my tuners/strings/ pins/this last week ,they should be here
this next week..right on time. I did notice some things I dont like after I took the clamps off ,It does have a nice arch in the back so its a pass,
I go with it...But I notice one little spot were I should have clamp better at has a little rase spot ..but the binding can hide that spot. the other thing is
I use the dryer plan braceing and I notice that there is a brace right in front of the sound hole...wow did'nt even see that..well at lease the back is
going to be strong I can work around it. well I did'nt have much time to really get a good look at it ,I will today when I stop by the shop.
well for now...

Ron, This is coming along very nicely and looking good. Looks like you have these harps pretty under control.

What is the total length of the longest back piece? I had a small version of a harp guitar plan that I blew up, but I am not sure if I got the total measurement right. I was cutting some back and sides out of cocobolo and goncalo alves.

now that am at the shop, and I have time to really look it over ,,that rise came right out by sanding the body..am going with it...it good. the rest it all down hill.

ok grant..

If your makeing a copy of a Dryer harp ..notice the arm of the harp sticks out 2ex-inches from the body.

if your doing an 2 piece back bookmatch the harp side same as the top would be and this is min it could be..37 length.in inches x 10 wide x what ever thickness you like....the other side is 25 length x 8 1/4 wide x what ever thickness you like...

it really hard for me to find wood that wide so I use a 3 piece back...it 38long x 7wide x ?/thickness ..the other 2 piece are 30 long x 7wide x what ever thicknes...I use around .085 thickness for the back and top +- .010 I really hope this help...

that other thing is ...if you off set the center line 1/2 inch it would work and the plan call out the do this ..38 length x 8 1/2 wide both side cut to this wide
x what ever thickness you like...but you really have to be died on with your line ..or you end up having the harp arm by adding wings...

back to work for me ...

Good Morning Guys ..

am down at the shop today , nice day here. Well spending most of the day sanding the egde off and clean-up the body
Image

getting the body ready for binding ..am at the point were I have to stop and think ,! were I want to go from here.
Bindings at is? so I stop and show you guys how I fit the harp head plate...this is the trickest part of the build..I think most
of the builders build with the harp all ready glue in place ..I can't think like that ..I have to do things the hard way. so here I go.

this week will be fitting the harp head plate....keep and eye here..guys...comments welcome...good or bad.
