Looking good Z, won't be long now.
I went to LMI and they have 3 dread plans, a 6 and 12 by Scott Antes, and a Martin Herringbone dread plan by Don MacRostie. There aren't any pictures and I don't want to get a plan for one of those boxy dreads. Which plan are you using?

Thanks,
Joe

Joe, I have all 3 and the 6 string and herringbone are the regular "boxy" dreds. The 12 string pattern has the slope shoulders that Z is building.

Thanks Grant and Z, like I say I love the slope shouldered dreads but you sure see a lot more of the boxy shapes.
It's a shame more people aren't blessed with my discriminating tastes! :D

Z... I love slope shoulder dreds and yours looks fantastic! Coincidently, I have begun a 12 fret, 12 string SS Dred. I was wondering if you might describe the method in which you laid out your strings at the nut and bridge pins.

I am planning a 1.75" nut and 2.30" spacing at the saddle. I generally have used StewMac's nut scale to determine spacing but I don't believe it works with 12 strings.

TIA

JJ thank you,
my first 12 string i did with width on nut 1.75 but strings are littlee bit to tights. Now i'm on 1 7/8 and nut spacing from 1st string to 12th string is 2 5/16.I think that spacer jig wont work with 12 string. At the nut i drew in auto cad space for strings and just laid paper on nut and cut with nut files.I also drew bridge in acad cut paper put som glue on bridge blank and cut by patern.By the way spacing between strings(1-1, 2-2..) is 4 mm.
I hope this help, any questions welcome.
