Pat Foster's Ashbory Bass

Yes, it's true, not all guitars are acoustics; some have single coils and some have buckers, and all of those have some serious electrons. Build 'em, work on 'em, mods, questions, Put 'em here!

Dave,

Hah! Yes, I am building one for my son. He and I are working on it together. Since this was my first electric - and an offbeat one at that - we roughed out a prototype from fir, made some mods, then did one out of walnut. The body shape and cavities for electronics are about done, presently working on the fingerboard. We got all the hardware from largesound.com.

I don't have much in the way of photos, but I'll put some up this evening if I get a chance.

What's going on with yours?

... and I'd heard that you took hundreds of photos of every project! ;)

Mine's been finished for a while but I don't have any finished photos. I do have a few 'progress' photos (not hundreds) so perhaps I'll do a 'build' thread and hopefully have some photos of the finished instrument by the time I get to the end. (That's if the boss lets me get my nose away from the grindstone long enough. :? )

But it's 2 minutes to midnight here, so I'm off to bed now.

OK, OK, caught redhanded building an electric. But it's a small one! Here's a pic. Not much to document in this process! He's using the file to create a conical point on one of the horns. He thought it would look cool and who am I to judge?
