Hey Ron
That bridge plate is a monster! What are the actual dimensions of it, and how thick is it? How does a plate that large affect the tone of the top when you tap it?

ron steiger 1209 sunnycrest ave ventura calif 93003...

Eben Thanks man really...cool ...I take care of you and send you a big billet of mahogany...how's that! your address Ill need to..

David ..that bridge plate is standerd on the dryer harp, I copyed it on the plans I got from greg m from harpguitar.net
I think it make the harp/guitar louder ...remember you got a lot of force pulling on that top.I think its 3 wide x 6 longx .o95 thick.
its way big.... :D also It could be defined and made smaller...am sure of that....

Yeah Ron,

I have been going to the store in Orange County and they sent me a letter about the new store opening. October 18th I think. I get my Stauer Veneer sheets from them. Also, hide Glue and Shellac and lots of neat tools and stuff. Maybe we can go together one day when they are open. Some of the tools are pricey but I can drool! Your build is going good. I carved the Head Crest for my 10 String tonight and will try to get it posted.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Doesn't fit? Get a bigger hammer.

I got the top all braced up today and been working on the neck block..noticed the tail will start at 4inch high and taper down to the neck
block to 3 1/2 += about 1/4- 1/8 after sanding the block could be at 3 1/4 . ok this patten is the same as the dryer harp patten..less sound hole
and tail ,I use one brace and the plans call out for 2..

got the side resawn and thickness sanded and ready for the hot pipe ...might do that sunday or wait till monday....well have a good week end guys..
