Hey Joe

Now that you have been playing this one for a bit -

How did the brace pattern work out ? -

Will you do this same one again ?

What is your current feeling about the internal braces ?

Is the sound dark ? Light ? Open ? Tight ?

I have been using a stiffened rim [normal lining with veneer glued to inside - close off all the open kerfs]
I think a lot like you have done here.
I can't really figure out if it helps or not.

I do not feel it is hurting anything [ as I did feel my double X builds were hurt] but can't tell if it helps.

The rim does hold the intended shape quite well though.

What do you think ?

Once again, Joe, you have created an instrument from 1942 using your artistic eye to build it in contemporary time. Where do you hide your time machine?

Can't wait to hear how it sounds. In the meantime, I'm sending you a thesaurus so you can look up a bunch of words to describe sound as well as your eyes describe your vision. You know, you can always cross over into the culinary phrases, like "the sound reminds me of oak barrel aged sarsaparilla with a hint of tupelo honey and smoked cinnamon."

You know, I remember that it was not all that long ago that you were learning the ropes. Man you have come a long way in a short time You are doing some incredible work.

Not sure how much this Forum has been a help to you along the way, but I hope it has made some contribution. And if it has, well then, I guess we are meeting some of the goals of starting this place.
