Boy Ron, BUMMER! :shock:

Sorry about your Drum Sander. Hope you got both the Top and the Sander fixed! Sometimes, things just don't seem to want to go right. Build is looking good. :D :D

Regards,

Bill from down the hill.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Doesn't fit? Get a bigger hammer.

Hey, man;

Sorry 'bout the top!

My sander was doin' this for a bit - It was when I changed brand of belts I was using - The old ones, I could wrap tight; the new ones did what yours did when I wrapped them the same way - I now give 'em about 1/2" between wraps and no more problems - Hope that helps!

What do you mean ....wrapped..I dont understand! ( like ex-room were the sand paper fit into the holder)

.The one's I get do not have room on the ends for play...were are you guys getting your sanding belts? I try to keep the belts tight ,the other thing is , is all the belts the same size?

also I was able to fix the sander and sand the top clean...That made my day........... :D

My first batch were Delta, and when I wrapped them around the drum, I could do it so each wrap was tight to the next.

I get mine from Woodworker, and I use this Zirconia stuff which lasts really well - http://www.woodworker.com/cgi-bin/FULLP ... der%20Roll

With this stuff, when I wrapped it around the drum as I had been doing with the Delta stuff, it did exactly what yours did -Now, I leave about 1/2" between each wrap and no more problems!
