Clever idea, that "phone booth". Being a Doctor Who fan, I thought you had built a Tardis (Sorry for the reference for those who aren't familiar with Doctor Who). Makes me think I might be able to use my far-infrared sauna for the same purpose. It has a thermostat and timer, and does not use water or steam.

That would be Je-sus, (hey-soos), kind of the central character in a big mixed media piece of mine called the "Shabby Seat of Power" left over from my serious artist days before I discovered the easy money world of guitar building. :D

I'll see if I can find a pic,

Joe,

I love the "phone box". As Bill and Ted would say "Excellent 8-) ".

with peeling paint on the inside of the door-it seems more like outhouse than phone booth.

Thanks Dave!

And John, you know they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but however you see it, it's letting me get on with building your guitar. If you want to picture it being built in an outhouse rather than a phone booth, go for it.

Thanks to my new phone booth I've been able to get on with bracing the plates.

All carved and ready to go! Has a nice tap to it. As you might be able to tell I'm following Scott van Linge's ideas on bracing as close as I can. I haven't done an x brace guitar for a while, but his thoughts and advice sure helped me to improve the sound of my builds.

And the back, lightly braced because I like to feel the vibrations when I play.

And I guess closing the box will be next,

Nice clean work Joe.

I was just wondering,

Is it hard to concentrate with hey-soos hanging around the shop watching your every move? :D
