Re: GH BRW, Adirondak (Slope Shoulder for MikeG)

The BRW just looks warmer to me but the walnut probably would warm up depending on if you use a shellac on it. I used siam seedlac over my walnut and it warmed it up nicely. What finish do you use and pore fill?

Re: Small Concert, SC, Prototype BRW/ Itialian

Todd, When you get some time could you explain how you build the radius into the mold? Do you cut the taper in and then take it to a radius sanding dish to set the radius? The one problem I seem to have with taking the rim to a sanding dish is getting it consistent and even especially when you have ...

Re: 72 Thinline/Custom/Deluxe Parts Guitar

The only thing I can say is I wish you could talk him into a white Mary Kay finish at least on that top . That's a nice grain pattern. I just hate covering up the grain on an ash Tele. I never made a Thinline but is there enough wood left on the back to belly it out or is the cavity too big thinning...

Re: Double Top, Quilted Sapelle.

Oh! Two molds. That's a pretty cool setup. I'm planning on building 4 of my sloped shoulder Dreds, P-45 . I might have to give some thought to building something like that. Thanks for getting me straight on it. Sometimes you just need an extra arm to get some of those pictures. :) I wanted to know i...

Re: Double Top, Quilted Sapelle.

Todd, Ok, let me make sure I'm understanding this just right. First off are you setting the bevel slightly above the rib edge or below? Because the level in the picture shows it below unless the whole table is on a slant or I'm missing something which is a possibility. :) On your profile/radius mold...

Re: Double Top, Quilted Sapelle.

Sure thing I appeciate it. I saw your Italian bevel some time ago and that's where you showed the bevel but didn't get into it's layout. I have to get some printer ink tomorrow and print these out. Lot's good stuff in them.
