Re: Curly Maple Cutaway for Debbie

Steve, I'm bummed too about not getting to show it to you, but the next time I come I'll bring Olivia's at least (assuming she says okay.). As for what's next... I have an electric to build along with a non-classical nylon string and a Uke. First for each so I guess I'll be expanding my horizons... ...

Re: Curly Maple Cutaway for Debbie

Thanks Dennis. I did my best to talk Debbie out of buying this guitar because she doesn't know how to play either. She insisted and said that she would take lessons after she got it. I'm hoping to get her instructor to play it though so maybe we can get a recording of him/her... If it wasn't so late...

Re: Curly Maple Cutaway for Debbie

So much for back in a few days... This one has actually already been delivered to Debbie, and once again I was pushing to get it finished and didn't stop to take pictures like I should have. I did make the nut and saddle out of snakewood, and I liked the way it sounds, looks, and the workability of ...

Re: Olivia's Pink Paduak

Thanks Dennis.

I still pull Ben's out from time to time, but it will take a little more purposefulness to go into her room to get it.

Ben played his a bit after Olivia's was finished, but that would be an expensive and time consuming way to get them to play.

Re: Olivia's Pink Paduak

Thanks Eben. Matt, I had to go back and look, but based on the width of the channel it left behind on the plywood, it was the carbide bit I got from Stew Mac. I also have some dental bits I got from one of the members here and on the other build I have going (Debbie's Maple) I used a jig that holds ...

Re: Olivia's Pink Paduak

Well I got in the zone I guess and the next thing I know the guitar is finished and I don't have any pictures of how it got there... http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o274/feissli/Olivias%20Padauk/01-25019.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o274/feissli/Olivias%20Padauk/01-25018.jpg http://i122...

Re: Curly Maple Cutaway for Debbie

Thanks Guys. Between traveling for my day job and finishing up Olivia's guitar I haven't made it here in a few weeks. Should be adding some posts here in a day or two though. I'm making the nut and saddle out of snakewood... but no pics at the moment.

Re: Curly Maple Cutaway for Debbie

Thanks Steve. It has been awhile. Thinking back on it, I don't think I made it out to see you at all in 2009!

It's good to get out in the shop, even if it is in the 40's out there...
