Re: Olivia's Pink Paduak

Eben,

Thanks for the defense. As far as I'm concerned if we're good, I'm happy. ;)

MrZ,

Thanks. I like the shell rosettes too, but they are more trouble to install I think.

Re: Olivia's Pink Paduak

Thanks guys for the encouraging words. Lefty, I took several tops, backs and sides over to Eben's one night and broke 3 different sanding belts. :o One of them was while sanding this top. Probably a combination of taking too big a bite, tracking too slow, and working it for too long, but I think the...

Re: Olivia's Pink Paduak

The Top - The top is Curly Bear. Steve has had good success with it so when a smallish set became available on ebay I bought it. Here it is after jointing, but before using it to destroy a belt on Eben's Delta 18. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o274/feissli/Olivias%20Padauk/01-07-08024.jpg Thin...

Re: My first commission (Kelley's Guitar)

Raymond, That is really a beautiful guitar, but the first thing that strikes me is it looks as though playability was the key design factor. I'm not sure why that seems to be the case - something about the body shape, and particularly the cutaway... the neck looks really well proportioned... the he...

Randy, Eben, Waddy, Joe, & Hesh,

Thanks for the warm praise. It does keep me going especially coming from people I respect and admire as much as all of you.

Re: My first commission (Kelley's Guitar)

Nice job! was it hard to kick out of the nest? I know my first commission was very hard. I got through it with some words from Dennis and Eben, but still miss it. I get updates from time to time, so that makes me feel good. Be sure to get them to do a public review on Harmony Central. I am one of t...
