Re: My first commission (Kelley's Guitar)
Kelley wrote a review for me to put up on my website. Thought I'd share it here... 'I play mostly fingerstyle guitar, and Ray did an excellent job of customizing the guitar to my style of play, creating an instrument with low action (and no fret buzz) and a rich, vibrant sound. In addition, his craf...

Re: Olivia's Pink Paduak
Thanks Tom. I struggled with whether or not to bind with a dark color or a light color, as I've been told that the Paduak gets darker as it ages. In the end... I already had maple binding ready to go so that is what I used. I think Ebony would look great. I'm tempted to put a thin veneer on the back...

Re: Olivia's Pink Paduak
With Olivia's guitar, I'm using a pre-shaped neck that was a reject from a major maker. I have several, but only one that had the shorter heel. Unfortunately, the holes were pre-drilled on this one so I won't be using my normal headstock shape. Here I'm using my fancy-dancy headstock overlay remover...

Re: Curly Maple Cutaway for Debbie
Thought I'd throw a couple of pictures out to show that I've not been totally idle... On this one, I've glued the ears on the headstock http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o274/feissli/Debbie%20M/Mar16001.jpg Shaped the headstock, cut the truss-rod slot, and started fitting and shaping the tenon. Als...

Re: Curly Maple Cutaway for Debbie
Just a couple of pictures after scraping the binding...
I've started working on the neck, but haven't taken any pictures yet...

Looks like another invisible save.
And those headplates are looking more and more like Padauk every time I see them.
