New Long Scale 12 String

It's about time I had another go at these old time 12 strings. Seeing Haans knock them out has my mouth watering for another one, and since his spectacular work is a touch out of my price range I'll just have to cobble up an okie version. :D

I'm using my Stella inspired Grand Concert mold but I added some 1'' spacers to it so this one will have a 15 1/2" lower bout and 26 1/2" scale. The back and sides are some of the asian mahogany that I got from Edd Yohannes.

Since it's been too wet here to work on plates, I've bent the rims, glued them up with neck and tail blocks and got my reinforced kerfing on.

And that's a start.

Can't wait to see the bracing you use...I'll be watching :)

That's looking nice and clean Joe. Have you already shown how you do your reinforced linings? If so I must have missed it. Do you use heat to bend the reinforcement strips on the inside?

Off to a nice start as usual Joe, your building a 26 1/2" scale this means heavier bracing? A longer scale needs more tension to bring the strings up to pitch...will you be bracing her with any extra strength for this added tension.
I realy enjoy your builds Joe keep them coming man!
