Hi I am new here (hey yo yo!)

Yes, it's true, not all guitars are acoustics; some have single coils and some have buckers, and all of those have some serious electrons. Build 'em, work on 'em, mods, questions, Put 'em here!

I have been building a bass guitar for my little brother for about two years. The project morphed from a solid-body twelve string, which has been put on hold for the time being. We decided to use a multi-scale length, and individual bridges for each string, which required a mock-up so that we could eliminate any surprises. The crude mock-up version revealed the precise nut to sadle length for each string.

Welcome

Good to see you here. Post some pictures. Get a photobucket account and put up some pictures. I love to see pictures. I to have been working on a couple of guitars for two or more years. Seems like stuff just keeps coming up to postpone my builds. I have been collecting tonewood. So, when I get back to it, I am well supplied.

This is a great bunch of guys and they love to help you out. You can ask them anything.

Welcome Steven Vincent Thomas Thomas Thomas from Austin (hope I got the code worked out right - if not, let me know what name to put on the tags for your Christmas present.)

Too late - I already stared at the switch too long, and my eyes are stuck in the crossed position. That's going to be a solder-fest!

Looks like the 6-string bass morphed into a 5-string. What scale lengths are you using? With all those pickups and that switch-of-many-positions, looks like you'll have a bass with multiple personalities.
