Are the plans for the 2-27 model available? I have a mold I made years ago from photos in a book but I was way off with the shape, I have the scott Antes parlour plans but need more precise details to get the shape and bracing right,
Michael, The Antes plans are pretty close. Good for overall shape and size, but the bracing is considerably heavier than the original old Martins. And, of course, no information on the V headstock joint but that is something one has to work out for oneself.

On the bracing, I have seen several of these older Martins. The bracing is quite light and sanded and finished almost to the point of being polished. Hopefully the photos in this thread will give you some idea, though mine don't look as good as the original.

Thanks for giving this a bump because now I see that I never posted photos of the finished guitar. I will remedy that situation :D

Grant,

I just took a trip down memory lane with this one and plan on going through it again!

When you refer to the Antes plan are you calling out the Parlor/small concert, 6-string, 12 fret to the body, slot-head that Lmii offers? I'm thinking about making one of these and plan on ordering one of these when I order from them soon.

I'd like to get in on some of the wood you are offering as well, although I need to get approval first... Ha.

Thanks for posting in such detail!

Best,
_Mike

Grant, you know you never did do a final set of photographs on this.

A handful of us have seen and played this beauty, but she deserves her fame on the catwalk! :D

Well, I will see what I have, since I can't take any more for a while. Ron Miles has it at the moment and he is taking it with him to the Winnipeg Folk Festival. He always jams with many of the musicians, so it will likely get played by a few folks :D

Yup...we need pics. That's just too cool to leave hanging.
