I am very much looking forward to building with the Beng that you are sending me.
I have decided that I will be doing a parlor.
I just bought some really nice spruce tops that I am itching to get into, and I also got a very nice set of Kluson tuners that I want to try out.

I love your rosette!
David
You might change your mind when you see the size of this set....the backs are about 9 inches wide ;) :D

Looking good, Grant! That white spruce even has wider grain than some of the local spruce I've cut for soundboards... But, I like it!

Well, again, I guess I skipped a bunch, but my goncalo dread topic has the basics of putting the box together.

Today I routed the binding channels.

I will probably glue the binding on Sunday. I plan to try to finish at least two of these (maybe 3) this one and the Goncalo dread, before Christmas. Wish me luck.

Bindings glued on.

First top binding on and second ready to go

Ready for the back bindings

All glued

Nothing too complicated. I put in a b/w veneer purfling on the top and back as I went along. I will let these dry until tomorrow. Still need to glue in a short piece of binding at the cutaway end.

Did a bit more work on this today

Here is the last small piece of binding trimmed and ready to glue

And here is everything roughly scraped level

A bit of sanding and some touchup here and there and this box is done :D

This one is actually done. Folks played it at Stringfest last Summer. I will take some photos and post them.
