Boycote / lutz build - Builder exchange

I am beginning an OM guitar for Joe Sustaire using boycote and bridge stringer spruce. I hope to complete it and travel down for a visit later this year...

That's a real pretty color combo Dean. What is the neck wood going to be?

Hooo-boy Dean, that is some pretty wood!!!
What a surprise to find this post here this evening.
So yes, Dean/Freegift and I are doing a builder swap and Dean's got the jump on me with a beautiful wood combo.
That is some great color in that spruce top, looks more like cedar from here, and sure looks good with that back!

Dean gave me some body shape/size options and I decided on the OM since I don't have one and all I seem to build is 12 fretters. This will widen my horizons a bit. And Dean has given me free rein to build him a guitar following my own tastes, so yeah he's quite the gambler! :D

Anyway, this is going to be fun Dean, and I will start a thread for your build when I've pulled some ideas and wood together.

Oh yeah! This should be fun to watch! That Bocote and that reddish Lutz are going to look killer together. Looking forward to watching this - from both builders!

Lookin' sweet Dean! If Joe doesn't like it, you can travel a bit farther south...... That top looks amazing. Can't wait to see it under finish.
