Re: Mr.Z's 12 string
Thanks Grant and Z, like I say I love the slope shouldered dreads but you sure see a lot more of the boxy shapes.
It's a shame more people aren't blessed with my discriminating tastes!

Re: Curly Maple #1
Thanks for the rosette sanding tips Hesh! I'm sure going to try that.
And Z, I also like your circle cutting jig. Could you give us some pictures on its construction?
Thanks,
Joe

Re: My "Back Yard" build
Great to see you back on this Grant. I remember this build and am happy to see it continued here. As I recall you're going to use birch for the back and sides? I'm interested in that since so many of the stella type guitars from the 30s used birch, be fun to see what you think of it. And I love the ...

Re: Mr.Z's 12 string
Looking good Z, won't be long now.
I went to LMI and they have 3 dread plans, a 6 and 12 by Scott Antes, and a Martin Herringbone dread plan by Don MacRostie. There aren't any pictures and I don't want to get a plan for one of those boxy dreads. Which plan are you using?
Thanks,
Joe

Re: A Pair of Ditsons
Hey Chris, thanks for the nice comments. I'm pretty much a newbie also, these two are builds 5 and 6 for me, with the first one a 000 kit from stew-mac. So I'm pretty much soaking up as much as I can from those that know. On that tutorial Hesh uses a single-flute countersink from Woodcraft like thes...

http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n377/sustaireblues/IMG_0842.jpg Thought I'd jump right in here with an action shot, shaping the neck with a spokeshave. I've got both necks shaped now and fitted to the body, action looks good for now, no doubt will have to do some fine tuning later on. http://i33...

Re: Mr.Z's 12 string
Hey Z, man that looks nice buffed out and tuners installed! So I take it now you'll have to scrape the finish off where the bridge glues? It'll be singing soon. Thanks for letting me know that that is a slope shouldered dread. I usually don't like dreads, too big, and boxy, not enough curves for my ...
