Re: NAMM
Brian man, our thoughts and prayers are with you brother, hang in there, I know this is a very scary time for you and those who love you. Just remember that your "whole family" is pulling for you! Weird stuff happening to your body, hospitals and doctors are enough to freak out any of us, ...

Re: The first song
Very cool Z! Thanks for enlightening me, you and Bero both did a great job. I guess it's not too surprising I couldn't recognize the language.
Thanks again,
Joe

Re: The first song
Happy New Year Mr. Z, and congratulations on your video! I've got to say first off that being an old coot myself, whose musical taste run more to roots country blues, Tom Waits, and Dylan, that this is a little bit outside my usual listening range, but please don't hold that against me. :D I do like...

Thanks Bill, the top is sealed with shellac, and then I used a tung oil finish over the whole thing.

Re: X-Braced Parlor, 4th build
Glad you like it Chuck, I'm pretty pleased with it. I don't know what plans are available, I just drew up a shape that I liked, inspired by those curves in the pinch-waisted curves of those guitars from the 20's and 30's, and then adapted kind of a standard x brace pattern since most parlors are lad...

Another little update, in case you don't remember this is the bridge I put on these. http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n377/sustaireblues/IMG_0855.jpg http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n377/sustaireblues/IMG_0988.jpg And here is a shot where one was coming up from a bad glue joint, but it shows th...

Re: A Pair of Ditsons
Yeah, I bet you can Dennis! And please guys, don't take this exuberance as a pronouncement of my greatness, it's just my excitement over a personal breakthrough in my own work. How they compare to other builders guitars, I don't know. That's one of my problems, I'm basically working in a vacuum here...

Re: A Pair of Ditsons
Well, I've got a little update here on the Ditson sisters. :D The ladder braced one is still holding it's shape, slight dip and slight belly, but it doesn't appear to be worsening. And it sounds great. I did change it out to extra light strings, 11 to 50s, and as I keep saying, it's a joy to play. N...
