I love going back and forth between your first post (a blue painted door!) and whatever is your current progress point.

Beautiful!
Will it turn gray? Or, is that just the outermost, and outside layer? (I think this is inside out, right? Or, at least you have sanded through the gray outer layer.)

Re: My revised XX back bracing
Whoever wrote the line, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks." didn't know you. Or maybe this is just another sign of your nimble, youthful mind - nowhere near the "old dog" stage yet. I sure do like the look you've achieved! (The one I'm working on now uses your quadruple-X pa...

Re: Organic Soundports
Grant, I'm loving watching this guitar be born! Those butterfly/keys following the cracks look great as fret markers. I noticed that the typical fretwire on most guitars ("nickel silver" or "German silver") is 60% copper (60% copper, 20% nickel and 20% zinc.) Bronze can be up to ...

Re: New Cocobolo Jumbo
Thank you, my friend, and next I'll be watching to see how you plane and whittle by hand - if it's faster, easier, more enjoyable, or produces a better surface, I'm all over it.

Re: New Cocobolo Jumbo
Dennis, If you want this one, you can have it. I don't use it any more, I just use my mini planes and a carving chisel and do it all by hand. Let me know and I will mail it over. G Well, Grant, I think I'll take you up on that offer. I'll use it and send it back so you'll have it if you decide to u...
