Re: 2 new bar fret guits
 Perfect! Thank you, Grant! This will be emulated...and you will be credited. As far as I know, this is completely unique. I have seen a couple of builders that take braces and drill various sized holes in them, but not like this laminated structure (that does more than just look cool and redu...

Re: My revised XX back bracing
OK, I am going to show this again in more detail with measurements and how I make all of the parts. Since I will be doing it for my bar fret builds, I will put the process in that thread. Should have the details there by Monday night. G Thank you, Grant! And, reviewing this again, I see that the fi...

Re: 2 new bar fret guits

That will get you noticed on stage!

Re: 2 new bar fret guits
I'm getting psyched to try a set!
My logic tells me that the mass of the frets is what is positively affecting the sound, and I just hope the phosphor bronze is wear-resistant enough (because it is so much cheaper than the beryllium copper.)
Lookin' great, Grant!

Re: 2 new bar fret guits
January 23, 2015: Grant airlifted to Duluth for open-heart surgery.
February 23, 2015: Grant is back working in his shop.
(Is that incredible, or what!)
Very interesting that the heat treatment got the bar frets so damn hard. What a great project!

Re: 2 new bar fret guits
I'm sure you'll be able to find plenty of people who want to see your " blind walleye ." Are you going to route heat into the area and make a cozy speakeasy, or leave it at 57°F and make it a place to "chill out?" (Of course 57 degrees sounds pretty damn warm today, being 4°F h...
