Re: Ladder Braced Birch

You zoomed right through the creation of the slot head. Howdjadoit? Did you use Haans' trick, bandsawing out the slots then re-gluing the desired pieces?

Looking good, Joe!

Re: Ladder Braced Birch

Thermally modified Birch (at least the pieces that Grant sent through the process for me) end up just a smidge lighter than your back stripe. So, if you ever want to do another Birch guitar but want it darker...

Man, that looks nice, Joe!

Re: Ladder Braced Birch

Way to go, Joe!

The cylindrical top is also what Dave White does, and he sure gets a gorgeous, full sound.

Re: Documenting my first total thermally modified build

I thought I'd try resetting the white balance on a few of the photos, to try to give a good idea of the color of the tops.

Are these close to the correct color?

Re: Documenting my first total thermally modified build

Looks beautiful, and love hearing your initial report about the sound! I was sorting through the thermally modified tops that I got from you, and (as you probably remember), you gave me a few orphan pieces that were on the outside of the bundles for protection during transport and cooking the bundle...
