Love your shop helper! And, I'm glad to see that the red Doomsday Phone is in your shop - far away from the psychopaths in Washington DC that might use it.

Re: Thermally treated GC Build

Brilliant solution with the sides, Joe.

Bob Connor (of ANZLF fame and fortune) did this once and was amazed at the increase in the guitar's voice. I think he now always laminates his sides.

Re: Thermally treated GC Build

Yay!

and, yeah, maybe it is a chemical reaction with something in the wood - maybe just localized concentrations of minerals?

Re: Thermally treated GC Build

Yeah, those damn black spot/stains... I was sure that they were from steel filings that some slob left in my shop  , but now, you're making me wonder. Maybe the fabric softener/Supersoft2 is reacting with minerals in the wood? I still wonder if Supersoft2 is actually a superior product actually...

Beautiful, Grant! This should sell quickly (but don't give it away! It has a $300 Cocobolo set.)

Re: Thermally Modified Dread

I can't wait! Your previous TM guitar that I played was your best sounding guitar (to my ears.)
