Re: Grand Concert for Freegift, Builder Swap
Hey Joe
You know that you have become one of my favorite builders to watch.
Everytime I go over your posts I pick up one of those "why didn't I think of that" kind of ideas.
Cheers

Hey Dean
Did you use a sloan hand held binding cutter to cut your binding ledges? If so, I would love to see and learn how to do that. I have the cutter, and want to start using it. The more I build, the older school I get in some of the methods that I use

Joe Your bracing scheme is very elegant! I like that you are using your gut for this part of the process. It gets to a point where you just know when you have taken away enough material. It's one of my favorite things to do as well. It's looking really good...actually...I have been looking in on bot...

Have yo decided what you will do with the fret board yet....replace, or refret? I am wondering if the fretboard is ebony or if it is some other wood that has been dyed black.
Cheers

Nicely done!! I really like the tailpiece and bridge treatment on this guitar. Did you glue the bridge in place or is it actually a floating bridge like on an archtop. I am also curious how it sounds.
Dude ...you are getting really good at this!!!

Re: Double Top, Quilted Sapelle.
Hey Todd Is that top you are showing the inside top? If so, why do you have it braced? If it is inside, It will not be bearing the load of the strings thus being free to vibrate. The outside top would take on the load of the strings and need bracing...or am I completely missing the point here? I lik...
