I like your linings, Joe! I have seen a similar style of linings where the thin 'cap’ strip is inlet into a matching ledge in the kerfed linings, so you get a flush, not stepped, front (clear as mud…?). I believe C. Fox uses this style of linings. Anyways, I like your take on it, but you might b...

You can't do that, that's not allowed! :lol:

It looks good, let's hope you can retain the look all the way through its construction. Trimming the shape, levelling the bindings etc will be a challenge, but if you are careful it should be doable... Brave man, good for you!

Interesting concept, it sorta reminds me of the "Tone-gard" that some mandolin folks like to use.
